About the Instructors

About the Fuki-Shidoin (Instructors)...

Christina Taylor is an Aikido instructor and practitioner, who currently holds a rank of 3rd Dan (3rd degree black belt). She started Aikido in 1989, along with her mother, Sandra Taylor (assistant instructor, 1st Dan (1st degree black belt)). Both studied diligently under the instruction of Sensei Richard and Kathy Crane, 7th Dan (7th degree black belts), of the Aikido New Jersey Agatsu Dojos, headquartered in Stratford, NJ.

Sensei Taylor founded Aikido of Alabama in 2007 after relocating to Huntsville, AL in an effort to find an avenue for training and also offer this unique and beneficial Aikido training experience to others.

Sensei Taylor has twenty-seven years of Aikido training experience and twenty years of experience teaching both adult & youth Aikido classes and self defense workshops.

Sensei Taylor has incredible respect and appreciation for the instruction and dedication of both Sensei Crane, and is forever indebted to them for the profound, positive effect Aikido has had in her life, as well as, helping to direct her on a path of bringing this unique martial art of Aikido to others. Aikido of Alabama sincerely thanks Sensei Crane and the students of Aikido Agatsu Dojos for their ongoing support.

Please note that Sensei Crane are both authors of the book Aikido In Training (now in its second edition) and the supplemental 12 volume Aikido in Training Video Series. For more information on these excellent training references (and Sensei Taylor highly recommends them) and other Aikido related books/videos, please check out their website at www.coolrain.com.
